Can a lack of sleep cause hair loss?

Lack of sleep can be caused by a variety of reasons including stress and medical conditions, so it is possible that whatever is causing of the lack of sleep is also playing a part in causing hair loss. The body requires sleep in order to rest and restore itself and the various cells within the body. If your body isn’t getting enough sleep because of life changes or medical conditions, your body will become increasingly stressed and sometimes this stress results in hair loss. If you are experiencing trouble sleeping or noticing more rapid hair loss, you should talk to your physician first.

After consulting with your physician, if you think you are experiencing permanent hair loss, Bosley suggests that you set up an appointment for a free consultation. During your free consultation a Bosley Professional can help answer any questions and help you find the best treatment option for your specific needs.
